The beloved New York City restaurant Pastis is open in Washington, DC. Driven by two James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs, Pastis features elements similar to the original such as the restaurant’s classic curved zinc bar outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors with handwritten daily specials, and a mosaic-tiled floor.
The menu features the culinary staples that have made the restaurant a legendary dining destination from the decadent soul-warming Onion Soup and crave worthy Duck Confit. The menu also includes a few items specific to Washington DC such as a classic Wiener Schnitzel and Veal Tongue.
From staples like steak frites to new seasonal specials, we’re serving up your favorites for DC’s Summer Restaurant Week, from August 18th- 31st. Our sommeliers have paired all featured dishes with a wine to sip alongside each course. And for the table, take your pick from une fantastique collection de vins — reds, whites, rosés, and sparklings — each specially priced at $65 a bottle in the spirit of restaurant week.

“Le Diplomate has long held the crown for best French-bistro burger in the city, and while it’s still great, the eight-ounce cheeseburger at its Union Market sibling is even tastier. Credit a blend of brisket, chuck, and short rib from Pat LaFrieda; buns baked daily at nearby Bread Alley; and just the right amount of pickles, onions, and special sauce. Bonus: It’s a mere $9.99 at lunch.”
